John’s Monday Tip of the Week: SPECIAL Morning Tip!

Good (early) morning!

Today is a huge day for our Salem team. It’s been over ten years since our main syndicated Newstalk schedule changed but such a change is taking place today (Monday) with Hewitt now on in the mornings and Larry Elder moving to a prime afternoon slot on many of our Newstalk stations.

That brings us to John’s Monday Tip of the Week.

?

Our past few tips have been leading us up to today but that doesn’t mean the work is over.

In football lingo, prescription we’re in the red zone of this launch so we’re close but we want to have a good landing (touchdown!)

After The Walking Dead ended last night (still getting over that ending, fellow fans!), I went through your schedules and rotators. I changed all of the schedules that you asked me about and a few other discrepancies I found. I also tried to replace newly-outdated rotators with new ones.

However, please double-check your schedules this morning to make sure everything looks good.

We want to make sure everything is accurate, especially today.

Also, since this is a big change for your Newstalk stations, please continue to promote it throughout this week. Tweet whenever possible. Update your Facebook pages. If you have schedules in your offices, please make sure those are updated as well.

I know this week will bring a lot of e-mails and phone calls to your stations. Listeners, who might not have seen or heard about the changes, will call and ask.

Be as proactive as possible in promoting the new line-up. The more you keep reminding listeners, the fewer questions or complaints you may receive in the long run and such communication will help launch Elder’s show on your stations.

Getting the message of this change out this week is a major undertaking so if you want any help (with pop up ads or anything else), please just let me know.

This has been John’s Monday Tip of the Week.

Have an awesome week, y’all!

Best,

John P. Hanlon
