John’s Monday Tip of the Week: Newstalk website Capabilities

Good afternoon,

Hope you are all having a great Monday!

I know it’s been a busy politics-filled two weeks so I hope you are all rested up for the new week.

When I did our tip of the week survey a few weeks ago, I noted that several of you mentioned learning more about the website capabilities.

That leads us to John’s Monday Tip of the Week.

Several weeks ago, Rodney asked me to put together a list of capabilities staff members have to make changes on the Newstalk sites.

From changing out the rotators to creating and editing back pages to changing out advertisements in DFP, there are dozens of tasks staff members can accomplish simply by logging into the appropriate site (the admin tool, DFP etc).

Rodney sent out the full list to the general managers but I wanted to make sure you all had a copy of the Newstalk list for both your use and for the use of new staff members.

This is a great list to start from if you want a reminder about what aspects of the site you can change. Also, it provides a great overview for when you’re training new employees about what they can adjust on the site.

If you don’t have access to any of these tools (or you have staffers that don’t and should), please let me know so I can make sure everyone has all of the access they should.

Additionally, this list just provides an overview but if you have questions about a particular tool or see an issue in there, please let me know.

Lastly, if you also manage a business talk site, let me know and I can send you the list for those capabilities. Many of the capabilities are the same but there are a few key differences.
This has been John’s Monday Tip of the Week.

Have a great week, y’all!
