The first look at Oliver Stone’s new drama Snowden has finally arrived. Pushed back from its original December 2015 release date, cheap the film is set to arrive in theaters nationwide on September 16th.

Directed and co-written by Oliver Stone (who, alongside Kieran Fitzgerald, adapted the nonfiction book The Snowden Files by Luke Harding and the fictional Time of the Octupus by Anatoly Kucherena, into the screenplay), the movie promises to offer an intriguing look into the experiences of whiste-blower Edward Snowden.

The film stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt as the title character and co-stars Shailene Woodley, Zachary Quinto, Tom Wilkinson and Nicolas Cage.
